About us:

The dietetic and Nutrition department delivers effectively high-quality medical nutrition therapy to inpatients and outpatients to ensure their utmost well-being as an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team.

Food service:

The nutrition department also provides a clean and safe environment for employees and kitchen staff. The kitchen at Haykel hospital is directed by HACCP principles (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) in addition to LIBNOR that we use as our point of reference which is a public institution attached to the Ministry of Industry.

Dietetic Internship:

The department is also committed to teach new dietetic interns by giving them the opportunity to experience and know more about their role in the health profession.

Services and procedures:

Inpatient Care:

Our registered dietitian provides counselling and education sessions to all services including General medicine, Surgery, Adult and pediatric critical care, Cardiology, pediatrics, Geriatrics, oncology and maternity medicine.

Other practice sections include nutrition management in bariatric surgery, wound care, metabolic syndrome, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney diseases, obesity, diabetes and pre-diabetes, weight loss and weight gain.

Our Clinical dietitian provide nurses and house caregivers staff with educational sessions to ensure the understanding of specialized nutrition strategies for a better management of patient nutrition care especially for Cardiology patients and Critical care cases.

 

Outpatient Care:

 The clinical dietitian receives previous hospital patients when needed and external patients at the external diet clinic of the hospital.

Diet Center:

Our Diet center offers an ultimately perfect experience of healthy, light and delicious food with the best food service procedures for the enrolled patients.
